| Claudie Haigneré is internationally recognized as the first French female astronaut and the first European female astronaut to serve on the ISS. Trained as a rheumatologist, she earned her PhD in Neuroscience with a specialization in sensory neurophysiology. Selected by CNES (French Space Agency) in 1985, she contributed extensively to life sciences and space medicine programs.
She flew on two space missions: Mir (1996) and the International Space Station (2001) under the European Space Agency (ESA). Beyond her astronautical career, she served as French Minister for Research (2002–2004) and Minister for European Affairs (2004–2005). From 2009 to 2015, she directed Universcience, overseeing France’s two largest public science centers. Later, as Advisor to the Director General of ESA, she concentrated on European space policy and lunar exploration initiatives. Her contributions extend to promoting STEM engagement among youth and women as an active member of various foundations and organizations, including the L’Oréal Foundation, CGénial Foundation, Airbus Foundation, and Van Allen Foundation. She is a member of the French Academy of Technology and holds the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the French Air and Space Force Citizen Reserve. |

This workshop aims to provide participants with theoretical knowledge and practical applications in statistical methodologies, qualitative research, and digital education tools, with a focus on healthcare and citizen science. The program consists of four specialized training courses delivered by distinguished Belgian scientists.
I. Workshop training courses
Course 1. Basic Concepts of Spatial Data Analysis
Lecturer: Prof. Thomas Neyens, Hasselt University, Belgium
Overview:
This course provides an introduction to key methods in spatial statistics, focusing on the analysis of spatially discrete data. We will begin with spatial visualization and exploratory data analysis (EDA), emphasizing techniques for identifying spatial patterns and dependencies. Next, we will cover count standardization methods to account for population differences across regions. The course will then explore statistical models for spatially structured data, including Conditional Autoregressive (CAR) and Besag-York-Mollié (BYM) models, which are widely used in disease mapping and ecological studies. Applications will be drawn from medical and environmental contexts, demonstrating how spatial statistical methods can provide deeper insights into real-world problems.
Course 2. Introduction to Qualitative Health Research
Lecturers: Prof. Sibyl Anthierens & Prof. Hilde Bastiaens, University of Antwerp, Belgium
Overview:
This course introduces qualitative research in healthcare through a blend of lectures, workshops, small group work, and discussions. Students will gain theoretical knowledge of qualitative research and develop practical skills to conduct a basic qualitative research project. The course begins with an overview of basic concepts and traditions in qualitative research. Next sampling principles and common data collection techniques, such as interviews and focus groups are explained. Students will develop an interview script and practice interviewing skills. Finally, the course covers data analysis, with a focus on thematic analysis. Students will apply the knowledge gained to analyze an interview transcript. Throughout the course, key concepts related to research quality and ethics will be discussed.
Course 3. Development of E-learning Education Platforms Using R
Lecturers: Prof. Ziv Shkedy & PhD student Thi Huyen Nguyen, Center for Statistics & Data Science Institute, Hasselt University, Belgium
Overview:
In the course we will cover the topic of hypothesis testing and simple linear regression and will discuss how R tools can be used to conduct a modern analysis and to produce output. The course is very applied and we focus on different tools for different parts of the analysis starting from data visualization and exploration, analysis and modeling and output production. We will illustrate all examples with R and will provide R programs to produce the analysis. Basic knowledge of statistics and R is required for the course, although students who are not familiar with R can still join.
Course 4. Study Design in Epidemiological Research: Beyond Traditional Concepts
Lecturer: Prof. Joost Weyler, University of Antwerp, Belgium
Overview:
In this introductory course we will critically discuss the ‘traditional concepts’ of epidemiological research (session 1). We will start from the formulation of the basic questions (diagnostic, etiologic, prognostic) relevant for medical practice and translate these questions into an appropriate theoretical design (occurrence function and domain). We will demonstrate that each of these questions require a specific theoretical design and that, consequently, also the design of data collection and data management is unequivocal. As such, epidemiology becomes more accessible for lay persons, professioBàinals on the other hand will have to leave the still governing misleading (erroneous) epidemiological concepts behind. We will then focus the discussion on genuine causal (etiologic/etiognostic) research as an example of explanatory research (session 2), and on diagnostic research as an example of prediction research (session 3).

This workshop is ideal for students, researchers, and professionals in public health, medical research, epidemiology, biostatistics, and related fields. It offers valuable opportunities to enhance methodological skills, gain international perspectives, and engage with experts in the field.

]]>Over the past 15 years, Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến has grown and evolved significantly thanks to the unwavering support of the Vietnamese Government, the French Government, the French Embassy in Vietnam, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, and the Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến Consortium of over 30 French universities and research institutes. Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến has obtained many important achievements in training and research, establishing its position within both the Vietnamese and international educational systems.
