On May 19, 2026, the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi organized Doctoral Day 2026 with the participation of numerous doctoral candidates, lecturers, scientists, and experts from both within and outside the University. The event once again affirmed its role as a meaningful annual academic forum where doctoral researchers could present their research findings, expand professional networks, and gain practical insights into research career development in the rapidly evolving landscape of science and technology.

Doctoral Training and the Role of Young Researchers in a Changing Context
In his opening remarks, Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest, Principal Rector of Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến, emphasized the critical role of doctoral education in Vietnam’s strategy for scientific, technological, and innovation development. According to Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest, the proportion of students pursuing doctoral studies in Vietnam remains relatively low, while young researchers will play a key role in enhancing the country’s competitiveness in the future. He also reaffirmed that Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến is building an international-standard education and research environment, featuring English-medium instruction, European-oriented training programs, and an extensive network of international partnerships.

During his speech, Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest particularly highlighted the spirit of “No pain, no gain” in scientific research. According to him, pursuing a doctoral degree requires perseverance, discipline, and continuous effort. He also stressed the crucial importance of scientific publications for young researchers, stating: “No publication, no future.” In his view, scientific publications are not only indicators of research capability but also a means for young scientists to engage with the international academic community, disseminate ideas, and create value for society.

Academic Networking: A Bridge for Research and Career Development
Continuing the program, Prof. Patrice Estellé, Director of Research, Innovation, and International Cooperation at Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến, delivered a presentation entitled “Networking in Research: A Bridge to Career Development.” Drawing from his extensive experience in international research environments, Prof. Patrice Estellé emphasized the importance of building academic networks for doctoral candidates. According to him, research is not a solitary journey but should be developed within a collaborative ecosystem that spans disciplines, fields, and countries.

His presentation also provided practical perspectives on how doctoral candidates can develop professional networks through scientific conferences, seminars, academic communities, and digital platforms. In addition, Prof. Patrice Estellé encouraged young researchers to actively share their research topics, connect with colleagues from various disciplines, and fully leverage the international collaboration opportunities available at Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến.
AI in Postgraduate Research: Opportunities Accompanied by Academic Responsibility
As part of the program, Assoc. Prof. Bui Thu Lam, Vice President and Secretary General of the Federation of ICT Associations in Vietnam (FISU), delivered a presentation titled “AI in Postgraduate Education: Opportunities, Risks, and Emerging Research Directions.” His talk focused on the increasingly profound impact of artificial intelligence on higher education and scientific research.

According to Assoc. Prof. Bui Thu Lam, AI is becoming a powerful support tool for doctoral candidates in various activities such as literature review, data analysis, programming assistance, article structuring, and improving academic writing quality. However, alongside these benefits, the use of AI in research also raises concerns related to academic ethics, information accuracy, and researchers’ responsibility in verifying data. The presentation provided participants with practical insights into using AI as an effective supporting tool without replacing scientific thinking and core research competencies.
From Research to Market: The Development Potential of Lai Chau Ginseng
The program also featured a presentation by Dr. Nguyen Quang Thai, a Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến alumnus and former doctoral candidate who currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Thai Minh Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company. His presentation, entitled “Market Potential and Research Overview of Lai Chau Ginseng,” offered insights from the perspective of both a scientist and entrepreneur into the development potential of Lai Chau Ginseng in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors.

The presentation focused on studies related to the characteristic bioactive compounds of Vietnamese ginseng, challenges in conservation, cultivation, and development of growing areas, as well as the future commercialization potential of related products. Through this, participants gained a broader understanding of the connection between scientific research, technology transfer, and real-world market demands.
Honoring Outstanding Research Presentations at Doctoral Day 2026
This year, 35 research presentations from various fields, including Agro-Biotechnology, Medicine and Pharmacy; Space Science and Applications; Information and Communication Technology; Water, Environment and Oceanography; Energy; Advanced Materials Science and Nanotechnology, were selected for presentation at Doctoral Day 2026. The scientific committee highly appreciated the quality of the presentations, noting that many studies demonstrated strong practical application potential and reflected the serious commitment of the doctoral candidates.

Following the presentation and evaluation sessions, the committee selected two outstanding presentations of Doctoral Day 2026:
“Benchmarking multiple datasets for heatwave characterization across Vietnam” by doctoral candidate Pham Thi Ly from the Space Science and Applications program.
The study focuses on evaluating the quality of datasets used in simulating temperature and heatwaves in Vietnam, aiming to build a database serving heatwave projection and climate change research in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
“Genomic and Biological Insights of Bacteriophage ΦBc24 Targeting Bacillus cereus” by doctoral candidate Tran Nam Khang from the Agro-Biotechnology, Medicine and Pharmacy program.
The research aims to apply bacteriophages in controlling foodborne pathogens such as Bacillus cereus and Salmonella enterica, thereby contributing to food safety and public health protection.

Sharing his thoughts after receiving the award, doctoral candidate Tran Nam Khang expressed his surprise and pride at being recognized during the event. For him, the award was not only recognition of his research efforts but also the result of continuous support from his supervisors, family, and loved ones throughout his academic and research journey.
Meanwhile, doctoral candidate Pham Thi Ly shared that her research marks the first step toward a long-term goal of improving heatwave projection in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. According to her, building a reliable dataset will play a crucial role in enhancing projection quality and supporting future climate research.
Doctoral Day 2026 – A Space for Knowledge Exchange and Research Inspiration
From in-depth academic presentations and practical discussions on research, technology, and innovation to inspiring stories about the scientific journey, Doctoral Day 2026 once again became a meaningful platform connecting the Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến doctoral research community.

More than simply a venue for presenting research findings, Doctoral Day also provided doctoral candidates with opportunities for academic dialogue, professional feedback, and networking with multidisciplinary scientific communities both in Vietnam and internationally. Through discussion sessions, knowledge exchange, and experience sharing, the event contributed to fostering collaborative research, opening new academic perspectives, and encouraging young scientists to confidently pursue research careers in the context of rapidly evolving global science and technology.
