UNIVERSITY OF QUÉBEC À TROIS-RIVIÈRES (CANADA)

SEED Scholarships (Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development) is an academic exchange program of the Government of Canada for Southeast Asian students who are currently studying at Universities and Colleges, wishing to study. and research in Canada for a short term.

The scholarship aims to reduce poverty for developing countries in Southeast Asia, towards achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (2030).

Within the framework of the Student Exchange Cooperation Agreement between the University of Québec à Trois-Rivières (Canada) and the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến), the International Cooperation Department is pleased to announce SEED scholarships for exchange and research internship in the academic year 2022-2023 for students studying at Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến.

1. Eligible applicants

Full-time undergraduate and master students of Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến, holding Vietnamese nationality or citizenship of ASEAN member states.

Note: Students with Canadian citizenship/ who are participating in another Canadian scholarship program/ already enrolled in a Canadian degree program/ who have received a SEED-ANASE scholarship will not be eligible to apply for this program.

2. Time

Exchange program will start in August, 2022

Research internship program will start in January, 2023

3. Reward

10,200 CAD (~183 million) for 4 months or 1 semester

12,700 CAD (~228 million) for 6 months (Master only)

CAD 15,900 (~286 million) for 8 months or 2 semesters (Bachelor only)

4. Teaching language

The short-term exchange program will be taught entirely in French

French language requirements: at least B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(CEFR)

For the research internship, the language will depend on the research supervisor (French or English).

5. Application process and application form

Procedure:

The International Cooperation Department filters applications and sends student records to the University of Québec à Trois-Rivière.

Briefly describe the plan to apply the knowledge learned in Canada to contribute to poverty reduction in Vietnam

At the meeting, based on the upcoming Memorandum of understanding signed between the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) and Viettel on training, human resource development, researching, developing and transferring technology, exploiting and developing infrastructure, Viettel’s representative presented a collaborative plan with Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến in 2022 with 4 main contents: internship program for Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến students; sharing experiences; training Viettel personnel and other activities such as seminars and conferences.

Moreover, Viettel experts will participate in the judging councils for master’s and doctoral theses and join other activities of Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến such as Information Day, Space Day, workshops, seminars…
About the content of personnel training for Viettel, the Group will encourage employees to participate in Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến’s master’s and doctoral courses, especially evening, weekend, and non-full-time programs, while Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến will have Tuition reduction policy for Viettel employees.
In relation to other activities, Viettel will participate in career orientation day, co-organize specialized seminars and international conferences, establish Summer School, Winter School for Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến students in order to share knowledge and look for talent, and at the same time promote the Viettel brand.
Especially, at the meeting, Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến and Viettel agreed to add one more content of long-term collaboration in research activities, namely to open a joint laboratory at Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến so that Viettel’s high-qualified engineers and Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến’s talented lecturers and students can study and research together in the fields of information technology and space.

For the past 5 years, the University Council for the term 2016-2021 has made remarkable contributions to the development of Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến. At the beginning of the event, Acad. Prof. Chau Van Minh awarded the certificate of merit to 4 council members with the most outstanding contributions including Prof. Phan Ngoc Minh- Former Chairman of the University Council; Dr. Pham Ngoc Minh- Former General Director of Vietnam Airlines; Prof. Bernard Legube- President of Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến Consortium, Ms. Valérie Verdier- President of the French Institute for Research and Development (IRD).

Assoc. Prof. Ha Quy Quynh- Head of the Organization and Personnel Department of VAST announced the decisions to establish the University Council for the term 2021-2026, to appoint the Chairman of the University Council for Prof. Chu Hoang Ha- Vice President of VAST and Principal Rector of Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến for Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest.

Speaking at the event, Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest said that the development strategies of Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến for the period 2022-2029 and vision 2030-2040 would be associated with specific tasks to achieve its goal of becoming a recognized research university in the region and in the world. In terms of training, Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến maintains granting French-Vietnamese double degrees for master training programs, plans to grant French- Vietnamese double degrees for bachelor training programs, and especially prepares to launch a new training program in Pharmacy, bringing the total number of training disciplines to 17. In terms of research, Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến continues to invest and strongly develop international joint labs and focus to improve both the quality and quantity of international publications. In terms of international cooperation, Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến will tighten and expand the collaborative network with universities, research institutes, and businesses around the world to provide more opportunities for academic exchange, internship, and career outcomes for students. Moreover, Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến will work closely with the Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến Construction Project Management Unit to ensure the progress and quality of the campus construction project on Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park. The project was kicked off in September 2021 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2023 with the aim to turn Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến into a university with international standard facilities as French and European universities.

Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest affirmed that to become a recognized research university, Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến will face many challenges and obstacles. We can’t achieve our goal without the support of VAST, the research institutes under VAST, partners together with the trust of the parents, and the efforts of the staff, lecturers, and students. “Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến tomorrow will be a reminder of our commitments, choices, successes, and even failures. Our success will also be the success of all of you.” Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest emphasized.

At the ceremony, Mr. Nicolas Warnery, French Ambassador to Vietnam congratulated the University Council for the term 2021-2026 and expressed his joy at the participation of French members in the University Council. The representatives from the business and science sector, especially from Airbus and two large enterprises in Vietnam as Laboratoires Pierre Fabre and Schneider Electric will help to give useful recommendations to improve the quality of the training programs to make it align with the needs of the labor market.

At the end of the ceremony, on behalf of the Rector Board, Assoc. Prof. Dinh Thi Mai Thanh expressed his gratitude to Accad. Prof. Chau Van Minh- President of VAST and Mr. Nicolas Warnery- French Ambassador to Vietnam for their contributions to the development of Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến for the past 12 years. She hoped that Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến will continue to receive the support of VAST and the Embassy of France in Vietnam in the upcoming time when the University enters the phase of sustainable development and expansion.

The ceremony took place on the day of celebrating the 12th anniversary of the establishment of Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến (December 9, 2009 – December 9, 2021). This is also an opportunity for the staff, lecturers, and students to look back on the milestones Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến has achieved and set new goals for the upcoming years.

Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến was established within the framework of the Intergovernmental Agreement between Vietnam and France in 2009 and is considered as the largest and most ambitious higher education cooperation project of the Government of France abroad. It has become a symbol of the cooperation in higher education and research between Vietnam and France

From 6 training programs, Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến has launched 10 more training programs to meet the needs of the Vietnamese labor market, increasing the total number of our training programs to 16.

The training programs have been built based on the demand of the human resources of Vietnam in the fields of science- technology- engineering. From the first 6 programs, Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến has been launching 10 more programs to meet the demand of the Vietnamese labor market such as Aeronautical Maintenance and Engineering Operations, Mechatronic Engineering Technology, Information Security, Data Science, and Automotive Engineering.

The bachelor programs were accredited by the High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education in France (HCERES) in 2017, which means that Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến’s degrees and credits are recognized and equivalent to other universities in Europe. Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến co-grants the master programs with French university members of the Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến Consortium. We take a lead in providing high-quality programs taught entirely in English, equivalent to French and European universities. On average, 70% of Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến students take internships in more than 20 countries around the world.

For the last 12 years of establishment and development, Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến has become a well-known university in training the fields of science-technology-engineering, affirming our position in the Vietnamese and international education system, which shows in the increasing number of students at bachelor-master-doctor levels. From our first intake of 15 students, the current number of Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến students has increased to 2.500. Especially, for the academic year 2021-2022, the number of enrolled bachelor and master students has increased by 73% and 133%, respectively.

Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến has built 4 international joint laboratories and many talented young research groups, gathering the participation of many excellent and experienced scientists at universities, research institutes of Vietnam, France, and many other countries. On average, ~ 1.2 articles in the list of SCI & SCI-E / lecturer/year, approaching the international publication productivity of universities in the region and in the world.

Journey to Vietnam and to Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến

Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest graduated from the Electrical Engineering program and obtained a PhD in Artificial Vision from the University of Clermont-Ferrand, France. Since then, he has held many management positions at prestigious universities and research institutions in France as well as abroad. Sharing about his journey to Vietnam, Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest said: “For me, the decision to come to Vietnam for work was a memorable turning point. I had worked in Asia from 2009 to 2014 and had known Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến. In 2020, I was appointed as the Director of the Organization of Francophone Universities (AUF) for the Asia-Pacific region and from that opportunity, I was able to learn more about Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến. According to Prof. Jean- Marc Lavest, in recent years, Vietnam has achieved impressive progress in economics and is highly appreciated by economists for its potential for future development. In order to reach out and be on par with other countries in the region and the world, Vietnam needs to make a breakthrough, moving towards mastering technology and becoming a leader in the fields of science and technology. The most important key of this process lies in people, especially high-quality human resources – people equipped with high-level knowledge and skills at not only bachelor but also at master and doctoral levels as well as creative capabilities and ability to quickly adapt in the fiercely competitive job market.  Therefore, the model of universities like Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến is very necessary and will become an inevitable trend in higher education.”

Heading toward the future

According to Prof. Jean- Marc Lavest, “Education is not to fill an empty vessel, but to light a fire. Education is not about cramming knowledge but igniting the fire of passion in each learner.”  Despite working at Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến for a short period of time from October 2021, he has been deeply impressed by the core value and educational philosophy, which the generations of leaders, staff, lecturers, and students of Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến have been pursuing for the past 10 years.

For the university to be able to turn challenges into opportunities, all will depend greatly on the people of Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến, on our staff, lecturers, and students. They not only play a vital role in the development of Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến but also represent as the “ambassadors” to spread the image and the reputation of Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến. Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest expressed his strong belief in the people of Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến whose energy, enthusiasm, dynamism, and creativity will drive the university strongly moving forward.”

As the largest and most ambitious cooperation project in higher education between Vietnam and France, Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến’s strength also lies in the strong support from many sides, including the Government of Vietnam, the Government of France, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, the Consortium of 40 French Universities and Research institutes. “It can be said that never before has Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến had many great favorable conditions for development as of now”. Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest affirmed.

Currently, Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến has been actively implementing many activities to improve the quality of training and research as well as expand the network of cooperation in parallel with investing in modern facilities and equipment so that students can access advanced education with the same standard as in French and European universities right in Vietnam.

Heading towards 2023, a year marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the 10th anniversary of the strategic partnership between Vietnam and France, Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến aims to complete many important projects, which play a significant role in our development. In terms of training, Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến is going to cooperate with French member universities of the Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến Consortium to launch Vietnamese- French double degree bachelor’s programs in Chemistry, Information, and Biotechnology as well as open a new program in Pharmacy, increasing the total number of the training programs of Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến to 17.

In order to create a solid foundation for the growth in quality and quantity of our training and research activities in the upcoming years, thanks to the support of the Government of Vietnam through Project 89, Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến will be able to send 200 excellent candidates overseas for PhD training to become Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến future lecturers.

In addition, the construction project of the Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến campus, which started in September 2021 and is expected to be completed in 2023, will turn Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến into a university with international standard facilities as French and European universities.

Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest sent a message to the staff, lecturers, and students of Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến: “When we put on the blue uniform of Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến, we have become Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến and Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến has become us. At the meeting, on behalf of the Rector Board, Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest extended his warm welcome to Mr. Vahram Kazhoyan and shared with him the development stories and future plans of Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến.

Before coming to Vietnam and Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến, Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest had lived and worked in the Republic of Armenia for 5 years. He held the position of Rector of the University of France (UFAR) there. Due to his contributions, he was awarded the Order of Honor of the Republic of Armenia by the Government of  Armenia.

Prof. Jean- Marc Lavest emphasized that the strength of Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến lies in its training model, which adopts the Bologna process of French and European universities with all the courses taught entirely in English. Nguyen Thu Thuy – Director of the Higher Education Department – Ministry of Education and Training shared that although the VinIF has not been established for a long time, it promises to be an annual scholarship fund that creates opportunities for breakthrough and development of Vietnamese talented young scientists.

Next, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phan Thi Ha Duong – CEO of VinIF has reviewed two years of operation of scholarship programs initiated by Vingroup Innovation Foundation, including: Scholarships for Master and Doctoral Training; Postdoctoral Fellowships and Grants, a Master of Data Science Training Partnership.

The ceremony honored scientists who received scholarships for masters and doctors in Vietnam in 2021. As the third year of implementation, the program has attracted a record number of more than 600 excellent applications sent from all the country. After review and assessment, 300 typical candidates were selected. The Vallet Scholarship Fund was established in 2001 by Prof. Odon Vallet from Sorbonne University, France through the Science and Education Association “Rencontres du Vietnam”, founded by Prof. Tran Thanh Van and his wife, Prof. Le Kim Ngoc.

At the beginning of every new academic year, Prof. Odon Vallet, Prof. Tran Thanh Van and his wife come back from France to Vietnam and directly handover the scholarships to the students with excellent academic achievements at the Temple of Literature in Hanoi. However, in 2020 and 2021, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the scholarship handover ceremony was held at the universities and institutes instead.

Also due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the professors could not attend the ceremony in person, they sent video messages, in which Prof. Odon Vallet and Prof. Tran Thanh Van expressed their regret that they could not come back to Vietnam to meet and handover scholarships to students. The professors thanked the lecturers who taught the students and the parents who raised them. The professors congratulated the students on their achievements and hoped that they, as talented researchers, will make great contributions to the development of the country in the future.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Thi Bich Ha commended Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến students for their outstanding achievements in academic and scientific research recently, and thanked the University Rectorate Board and lecturers for their guidance.

Because in the end, what we need to do is share what we have received. As Prof. Vallet said, you should be grateful to your parents and all the teachers who instilled in you the love and knowledge of science. The Odon Vallet Scholarships is the largest-scale and longest-standing scholarship in Vietnam. Over the past 20 years, the Scholarship Fund has awarded over 35000 students with more than 350 billion Dong.

There is a full scholarship of a 3-year bachelor program granted to Phan Tai Tinh Tri, a new student of the Chemistry Program for achieving the first prize in the National Excellent Student Competition in Chemistry for the academic year 2020-2021 and being directly admitted to Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến.
