On May 12, 2026, the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến) and Bretagne INP (France) held an online signing ceremony for a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening their partnership in training and research.

The signing ceremony was conducted online with the participation of representatives from both institutions. Representing Bretagne INP were Prof. Patrick Hénaff – Vice Director for International Relations, Bretagne INP; Prof. Gaétan Le Floch – Director of ESIAB, Bretagne INP; Assoc. Prof. Van Son Ho – Academic Coordinator of the cooperation programs under the agreement.

Bretagne INP is a prestigious French public engineering school network with recognized strengths in engineering, applied sciences, food technology, and innovation. Among its member institutions, ESIAB Bretagne INP — an engineering school affiliated with Bretagne INP and the University of Western Brittany (UBO) — specializes in education and research in food technology, microbiology, biotechnology, and food quality assurance. Established in 1991, ESIAB Bretagne INP is accredited by the French Engineering Degree Commission (Commission des Titres d’Ingénieur – CTI) for the quality of its engineering programs.

The newly signed agreement will provide a favorable framework for Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến and ESIAB Bretagne INP to implement a broad range of collaborative activities in education and research. In particular, the two institutions will focus on strengthening cooperation in the field of Food Science and Technology. Building on its dual role as both a common ingredient and a traditional medicinal material, the research aims to clarify the relationship between phytochemical composition and biological activities.“I chose a subject that has practical applicability but has not been widely studied in scientific research. This represents a very promising direction.”

The research team also developed extraction techniques and optimized processes for application purposes: “We aim to create formulations with potential applications in pharmaceuticals, food, and cosmetics.”

Scientifically and Practically Significant Findings

The dissertation achieved notable results, particularly in establishing correlations between phytochemical constituents and biological activities of Pandanus species.“This is not an easy research direction due to challenges in sample collection, model design, and analysis.”

Additionally, the study optimized extraction conditions to enhance applicability: “The goal is to determine optimal conditions for producing formulations through simple yet scalable processes.”

The findings not only contribute academically but also open up opportunities for utilizing domestic natural resources in pharmaceutical, food, and cosmetic industries.

Less than three months after the first official meeting between the two institutions, Nguyễn Bảo Minh – a third-year student in the Bachelor of Food Science and Technology (FST) program at the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến) – arrived at L’École supérieure d’ingénieurs en agroalimentaire de Bretagne atlantique (the Higher School of Engineers in Atlantic Brittany Agrifood – ESIAB), part of INP Bretagne, in Brest, France. Bảo Minh is the first FST student to intern at this strategic partner – a modest but meaningful milestone in the ongoing internationalization of the FST-Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến program.

From Connection to Action

In January 2026, Prof. Patrick Hénaff – Deputy Head of International Relations at INP Bretagne – held an official online meeting with the Life Sciences Faculty leadership and Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến’s Department of Research, Innovation and External Relations, chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Hải Đăng. During that session, Assoc. The thesis was supervised by Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Kieu Oanh (Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến) and Professor Eric Gontier (University of Picardie Jules Verne, France).

The defense was attended by a seven-member Evaluation Committee, including: Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hung – Chairman; Prof. Dr. Marie-Genevieve Dijoux Franca – University of Lyon 1, France; Dr. Pham Tuan Anh – Hanoi University of Pharmacy; Assoc. Under the chairmanship of the Committee Chairman, the Council reviewed and approved the candidate’s academic profile, research achievements, training process, and scientific results throughout the course of the doctoral study. The Committee highly appreciated the candidate’s serious research attitude and the outcomes achieved.

In the context of the increasing prevalence of modern diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, cancer, chronic inflammation, and premature aging, oxidative stress is considered a major factor affecting human health. In response, antioxidant compounds have attracted significant attention in the fields of food, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics due to their ability to neutralize free radicals, protect cells, and reduce oxidative damage. Research and application of natural antioxidants are expected to contribute to effective solutions for disease prevention, health improvement, and slowing down the aging process.

Based on this orientation, PhD candidate Nguyen Phuong Nhi presented the main contents and findings of her thesis before the Committee.

The research focuses on Golden Camellia, a valuable medicinal plant in Vietnam, aiming to analyze its metabolite profiles and evaluate antioxidant activity through an integrated and modern approach.

Motivated by an interest in medicinal plant research and the opportunity to pursue this topic, the candidate employed metabolomics an emerging research field in Vietnam to clarify the relationship between chemical composition and biological activity. The findings not only provide scientific evidence supporting the value of Golden Camellia but also open up potential applications in the fields of medicinal plants and healthcare.

The defense was successfully conducted, marking a dedicated and persistent research journey of PhD candidate Nguyen Phuong Nhi. Sharing after the defense, the candidate expressed great satisfaction that her efforts throughout the research process had been recognized and duly rewarded.

Following the discussion, the Committee held a closed session and conducted a vote, with a result of 100% approval (7/7 votes). On behalf of the Committee, the Chairman congratulated the candidate on successfully defending her thesis and acknowledged the contributions of the research to the field of medicinal plants.

Under the chairmanship of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trung Nam, the defense was conducted in accordance with standard procedures, including the presentation of the candidate’s academic profile, training process, research outcomes, and scientific publications throughout the doctoral program. During the defense, the candidate presented the key findings of the thesis, focusing on evaluating the synergistic effects of two compounds Diisopropylamine Dichloroacetate (DADA) and Fenbendazole in lung cancer models.

Lung cancer remains one of the leading causes of cancer-related mortality worldwide, highlighting the urgent need for more effective treatments with fewer side effects. In response to this challenge, the thesis adopts a combinational approach, integrating compounds with different mechanisms of action to enhance therapeutic efficacy through synergistic effects. Experimental studies on both cellular and biological models demonstrated that the combination of DADA and Fenbendazole more effectively inhibits the proliferation of lung cancer cells compared to the use of each compound individually. These initial findings contribute to clarifying the potential of combination therapy in oncology and lay the groundwork for further in-depth studies in the future.

The thesis holds not only academic significance in the field of medical biotechnology but also practical value in guiding future research and development strategies for cancer therapeutics.

The Committee highly appreciated the novelty, applicability, and rigor of the research conducted by PhD candidate Nguyen Quang Thai. Notably, the study follows a “drug repurposing” approach, leveraging existing compounds to identify new therapeutic applications, thereby reducing the time and cost of drug development. Following the presentation and discussion, the Committee held a closed session and conducted a vote on the thesis. As a result, the thesis received strong consensus from all Committee members.

On behalf of the Committee, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trung Nam congratulated PhD candidate Nguyen Quang Thai on the successful defense and acknowledged the meaningful scientific contributions made in the field of medical biotechnology. On December 11, 2025, PhD candidate Tran Son Hoang, specializing in Pharmaceutical, Medical, and Agricultural Biotechnology, successfully defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Circulation of pathogens and resistance genes between humans, animals, and the coastal environment in Nha Trang (Viet Nam), as revealed by a combination of phenotypic and omics approaches.”

Tran Son Hoang is enrolled in the co-tutelle doctoral program between the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến) and the University of Montpellier (France). His doctoral research was jointly supervised by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Huy (Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến) and Dr. Yvan Bettarel (Marine Biodiversity, Exploitation and Conservation Center, CNRS, France).

The thesis defense committee comprised six members, including the Chair, Dr. Delphine Destoumieux (Host–Pathogen–Environment Interactions Laboratory, IHPE); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Carles Borrego (University of Girona, Spain); Prof. Dr. Gwenaelle Le Blay (Laboratory of Marine and Environmental Sciences, Brest, France); Prof. Dr. Didier Hoquet (Marie and Louis Pasteur University, France); along with the two supervisors. The defense was also attended by the candidate’s colleagues and friends.

The committee reviewed and validated the candidate’s academic background, research progress, training activities, and scientific outputs throughout the doctoral program. The members highly praised the candidate’s academic performance, research quality, and sustained commitment.

During the defense, the candidate presented the main findings of his dissertation, which address critical knowledge gaps concerning infectious diseases (IDs) and antimicrobial resistance (AMR), highlighting their impacts on human health, animal health, and the environment. The study demonstrates that although research on IDs and AMR has expanded considerably in recent years, most studies have focused on inland ecosystems, with marine environments remaining relatively understudied.

The dissertation contributes significantly to advancing scientific understanding and methodological approaches related to marine pathobiomes and resistomes. Notably, the study utilized the NEMESISdb database, developed by Tran Son Hoang and his research team, to identify potential pathogenic bacteria associated with humans and aquaculture species.

The results reveal that rainfall, riverine inputs, and aquaculture activities (particularly floating cage aquaculture) play a crucial role in shaping the distribution and dissemination of pathogens and antimicrobial resistance genes. Floating cages were identified as “hotspots” for the accumulation of pollution originating from fecal contamination, antibiotic residues, and opportunistic bacteria, thereby increasing selective pressure and facilitating the spread of pathogens and resistance genes among humans, animals, and the surrounding environment. To date, the research outcomes have resulted in two SCIE-indexed publications, with three additional manuscripts currently under preparation and expected to be published in the near future.

Based on the committee’s evaluation, the dissertation reflects the candidate’s rigorous scientific training and strong research capabilities. The work was recognized for its high scientific value and practical relevance. Following closed-session deliberation, the committee unanimously voted (6/6) to approve the doctoral dissertation. The committee congratulated PhD candidate Tran Son Hoang on his successful defense and congratulated the Faculty of Life Sciences on the addition of a new doctoral graduate.

The dissertation was entitled: “Functional characterization of a rice gene OsGER4 in root development under abiotic stress”.

The dissertation was supervised by Assoc. Prof. Dr. To Thi Mai Huong, Deputy Director of Department of Research, Innovation and International Affairs, Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến.

The defense ceremony was attended by 7 members of the Evaluation Committee, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hai Dang (Chair of the Committee); Dr. Doan Trung Luu (University of Montpellier); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Truong Son (Vietnam National University of Agriculture); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Thi Thu Hue (Institute of Biology); Assoc. Under the chairmanship of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hai Dang, the Committee reviewed and approved the scientific background, research achievements, academic progress, and overall research outcomes of PhD candidate Nguyen Thi Trang throughout the course of her doctoral study. The Committee highly appreciated her academic performance, research results, and persistent efforts.

PhD candidate Nguyen Thi Trang presented a summary of her dissertation to the Committee, followed by a detailed presentation of the main research findings. The doctoral defense was conducted successfully, marking a significant milestone in a rigorous and meaningful research journey in the field of plant biology. The dissertation focused on rice (Oryza sativa L.)—a staple crop of Vietnam and the world—with the aim of elucidating the role of the root system in helping plants adapt to adverse environmental conditions such as drought, salinity, and high temperatures.

Recognizing that the root system plays a decisive role in water and nutrient uptake as well as stress tolerance, the PhD candidate conducted an in-depth analysis of the function of the OsGER4 gene, which is directly involved in the formation and development of crown root- the most critical component of the rice root system. Through molecular biology, genetic, and plant physiology experiments, the dissertation demonstrated that OsGER4 plays a key role in promoting the formation of crown and lateral roots, particularly under abiotic stress conditions.

The dissertation not only holds significant academic value in clarifying the molecular mechanisms regulating root development in rice, but also provides important implications for plant breeding, aiming to develop rice varieties with stronger root systems and improved stress tolerance in the context of climate change. The successful defense is a well-deserved recognition of the PhD candidate’s perseverance and passion for scientific research.

Notably, during the course of her doctoral study, PhD candidate Nguyen Thi Trang published 06 scientific papers, including five articles in international journals indexed in SCIE, Q1 and Q2 categories. In particular, 01 paper was published in The Plant Journal, a leading and highly prestigious journal in the field of plant biology. These achievements affirm the quality of doctoral training at the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến).

After deliberation, the Evaluation Committee held a closed meeting and conducted a vote, with the result of 7/7 votes in favor. On behalf of the Committee, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hai Dang congratulated PhD candidate Nguyen Thi Trang on her successful defense and congratulated the Department of Life Sciences on having an additional doctoral graduate.

On March 21, 2025, lecturers and students from the Food Science and Technology (FST) program at the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến) participated in a field trip to the Nutifood dairy factory, one of the leading companies in the nutrition and food industry in Vietnam, located in Hung Yen Province. This activity aimed to help students connect theoretical knowledge with real-world production practices, while also providing opportunities for networking and engagement with industry partners.

On November 1, 2024, the Department of Life Sciences at the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến) held the seminar “Vietnam’s Pharmaceutical Industry: Challenges and Opportunities.” The event attracted scientists, Department of Life Sciences students, and representatives from various pharmaceutical education institutions.

Opening the seminar, Prof. Dinh Thi Mai Thanh, Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến’s Rector, welcomed all participants and extended special thanks to Assoc. Prof. Le Van Truyen, former Deputy Minister of Health, Vice Chairman of the Social Affairs Committee of the IX National Assembly, and the senior expert in pharmacology. The speaker shared an in-depth analysis of Vietnam’s pharmaceutical landscape, highlighting both the opportunities and challenges the domestic industry faces in an era of international integration with the attendees, lecturers, and students.

Assoc. Prof. Le Van Truyen also presented Prof. Dinh Thi Mai Thanh with a set of books on the history and dictionary of pharmacy.

Opportunities for Development in the Pharmaceutical Industry

The speaker emphasized notable growth opportunities, particularly in the context of Vietnam’s rapidly aging population and increasing demand for pharmaceuticals, which create favorable conditions for local companies to expand and strengthen their position in the market. Vietnam’s pharmaceutical industry stands before significant growth opportunities. Pharmaceuticals continue to grow to adapt to an aging population and rising healthcare demand. Vietnam’s large market, with increasing purchasing power and strong government support, provides a favorable environment for domestic companies to expand and enhance product quality.

Additionally, export opportunities are being bolstered by free trade agreements and international standards, while digital technology is optimizing production and research processes. This is a prime time for Vietnam’s pharmaceutical industry to expand its market and enhance its competitive edge.

Challenges to Overcome

Despite these opportunities, the Vietnamese pharmaceutical industry faces significant challenges. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Truyen highlighted several key issues:

  • Technical infrastructure: Currently, in Vietnam, 17 out of 250 facilities met advanced GMP standards, and over 200 ones met WHO GMP standards; however, none have received WHO pre-qualification. This affects export capacity, technology transfer, contract manufacturing, and international collaboration.
  • Production, research, and testing capabilities: Vietnam lacks a concentrated Pharmaceutical-Biotech industrial park with a comprehensive ecosystem including R&D centers, BA/BE testing, clinical trials, quality control, pharmaceutical manufacturing, packaging facilities, and support services.
  • Financial capacity: Domestic pharmaceutical companies are small in scale, with limited investment capital and no nationally scaled pharmaceutical conglomerates.
  • Structural changes in the ASEAN pharmaceutical market: Vietnamese companies should adapt swiftly to remain competitive.

According to Assoc. Prof. Le Van Truyen, each company must review, adjust, and update its medium- and long-term development strategies, aligning with government direction and the local, regional, and international business environment to enhance the competitiveness of Vietnam’s pharmaceutical industry.

Discussion and Sharing Session

The program concluded with an open discussion, allowing participants and students to interact directly with Assoc. Prof. Le Van Truyen. Questions revolved around specific solutions for developing Vietnam’s pharmaceutical sector, from improving research capabilities to strategies for international integration, to which the speaker provided insightful and heartfelt responses, fostering a spirit of open dialogue and inspiration for all attendees.

Prof. Dinh Thi Mai Thanh closed the program by expressing her gratitude to Assoc. In order to continue to affirm the position and quality of training in the field of science and technology with an European learning environment, from 2022, Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến cooperates with French universities, including University of Lille to launch the double bachelor’s  degree program in 3 programs: Information and Communication Technology, Biotechnology – Drug Discovery and Chemistry.

According to this cooperation agreement, students will study 2 years at Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến and 1 year at University of Lille. Especially, during the time at Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến, students will have the opportunity to hone their knowledge under the guidance of experienced lecturers from University of Lille. Speaking at the signing ceremony, Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest (Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến) expressed his delight at the new step in the partnership between Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến and University of Lille, as well as his belief in the success of the double degree programs. Professor stated that these double degree programs are great opportunities for not only students but also lecturers to exchange and share knowledge and experiences.

Prof. Nil Özçaglar-Toulouse (University of Lille) affirmed that the cooperation of the two universities in these double degree programs will contribute to the development of scientific training and research, and the development of technology of the two countries. Moreover, this academic cooperation will create high quality human resources and bring advantages for the society in the future.

At the end of the ceremony, Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest and Prof. Nil Özçaglar-Toulouse signed the double degree cooperation agreement between University of Lille and Goodd889 cá cược trực tuyến, opening up opportunities for study and academic exchange in France for young people who are passionate about Information and Communication Technology, Biotechnology – Drug Discovery and Chemistry, as well as the desire to experience and develop themselves in an international environment, thereby accessing job opportunities on an international scale.
